People and Places of the Past

Photograph Gallery: Brough

Brough is a village in Cumbria. Its Castle guards the Stainmore Pass that crosses the Pennines and is on a ridge above the Swindale Beck. For most of its history it was owned by the Cliffords. The medieval St. Michael's Church is also in the village.
